Sausage Gravy, Egg, Tator Tot Breakfast Bowls

When I have the time, I go into cook-ahead mode and prepare meals to put in the freezer for my family to grab when they are in a hurry and on their way out the door. It's shocking that a local fast food here can sell these for whopping $3.59 a piece! Here is an EASY recipe for my version of them:

1 -28 oz. Bag of Tator Tots, prepared according to package directions. Bag says 9 servings, use your own taste.

1 Dozen Eggs- Scramble to your liking

1 Lb Breakfast Sausage Gravy- You could use whatever Sausage flavor you like, Mild, Hot, Turkey, or Chorizo for Mexican flavor. For instructions on making the "Best Gravy in the World" (According to my husband) please see my list of recipes.

Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Salt and Pepper to your liking, keeping in mind that when I cook these ingredients separately, I salt and pepper each of them, with this recipe, I normally salt and pepper the gravy and let it carry over for the rest.

9 - 15 Ounce freezer/microwavable containers, I chose this size because it was the smallest that our local small Grocery store had in stock, you could go as large or small as you like.

I cook every item separately and allow to cool before layering, otherwise when the meal is heated up, it gets mooshy. (Is that really a word?)

I layer my cooled ingredients into the containers in the following order to keep the Tator Tots as crisp as I can:

Tator Tots on the bottom, eyeball 1 egg, then the Sausage Gravy and Chedder Cheese to your taste.

Cover and freeze.

When I heat these up in the microwave, it generally doesn’t take over 3 minutes to heat through when frozen.

This recipe is really so simple, you could replace ingredients with any you’d like.
If you want to get all Fancy Smanshy on a lazy weekend you could layer in Ramekins, stretch out a biscuit over the edges, brush with butter, heat till biscuit is browned. Turn out onto the little bisquit bowl.YUMMY!!
